Taking the road less travelled in an immersive experience. A cause, exemplified.

Inspired by the late founder of Elephant Family and conservationist, Mark Shand, and his dream to reclaim the elephant corridors of India and Asia, Travels To My Elephant was designed as an unconventional roadtrip through India to raise money for conservation of the Asian elephant.

For the first edition in 2015, traversing through Central India, the 7-day journey took guests from every walk of life on 45 customized auto-rickshaws for a unique experience of India’s landscape, life, people and culture. Riding past the erotic sculptures, abandoned palaces, tiger reserves and rural vistas of Madhya Pradesh, guests were hosted at boutique resorts, tiger reserves and luxury camps that ensured an all-rounded experience. The entire route was charted with thoughtful attention to the cause and reminisced Mark’s memories, as his spirit of adventure was recreated in various activities and anecdotes.

The second edition in November 2017 was charted across the majestic Rajasthan, with patrons riding the unique ‘chhakdas’ (a bike-cart), auto-rickshaws, and even Ambassadors, Jeeps, and Royal Enfield bikes. Riding from one royal city to the other, the group was hosted by Maharajas, played cricket with a local village team, were hosted for an exclusively-curated Diwali celebration, and even got a chance to visit the iconic Pushkar mela.
